Privacy Policy

Lever UGC (“Lever”, “we”, “us”) makes Lever Studio, an iPhone app that turns a creator’s clips into finished videos. This policy covers the app and this website. Questions: team@leverugc.com.
The short version. Lever Studio does its work on your iPhone. Your campaigns, scripts, clips and finished videos stay on your phone unless you choose to send something. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
What stays on your phone
Your campaigns, scripts, clips, finished videos, the answers you give when you first open the app, and your settings are kept on your iPhone only. Lever cuts dead air, joins clips and writes your videos on the phone itself. We can’t see any of it.
What leaves your phone, and why
Your account
You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us a sign-in token and the name you choose to share. We never ask Apple for your email address. We keep your Lever account ID, your name, and a one-way scrambled form of the ID Apple gives you, so that your account and your plan come back when you sign in on a new phone.
Captions
To write captions, the sound of each clip is sent through Lever’s server to AssemblyAI, our speech-to-text provider, which sends back the words and their timings. This starts while you arrange your clips, so captions are ready when you tap Make my videos. If you end up making your videos with captions off, the words are thrown away. Lever’s server passes the sound straight through and keeps neither the sound nor the words. Silent shots and clips that play a background video’s sound are never sent.
To stop anyone else using our captions service, the app proves to our server that it’s the real Lever Studio on a real iPhone, using Apple’s App Attest. That makes an anonymous key on your phone, which we use only to count clips per phone per day. We also keep a one-way fingerprint of each request, so it can’t be sent twice. A fingerprint can’t be turned back into the sound.
Pro edits
If you send videos to Lever’s editors (part of the Elite plan), only the videos you choose go: their clips as you filmed them, Lever’s cut of them, a smaller working copy, and any music, B-roll and notes you add. They’re stored with Cloudflare, our storage provider, and opened by Lever’s human editors in our own web editor. The finished edit comes back to your phone. Everything you sent, and the edit, is deleted from our storage 30 days after you send it.
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought and billed through Apple. We use RevenueCat to know which plan your account has. RevenueCat receives your purchase details from Apple and your Lever account ID. We never see your card or payment details.
Brand teams
If a brand invites you to its creator team and you type in its code, the code, your account ID and your name go to Lever so we can add you to that team. The brand sees your name and how many videos you make for it. If you send a video for a brand’s approval, that video, its caption and the account it will post to go to Lever’s storage for the brand’s managers to review, and only their verdict comes back. None of this happens unless you join a team.
App settings
When the app opens, it asks Lever’s server for a few settings that change how it behaves. That request sends nothing about you.
Requests to our server
Like any server on the internet, ours sees your IP address when the app connects. We don’t use it to identify you. Our host, Vercel, keeps request logs for a short time for security and debugging.
Permissions
- Camera and microphone — to film your clips and record voiceovers.
- Photos — to show your camera roll so you can pick clips, and to save your finished videos.
- Notifications — only to remind you the day before a free trial ends, if you allow it. The reminder is set on your phone; we send no push notifications.
You can change any of these in the iPhone’s Settings.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help run the parts above, and only for that purpose:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Attest, and in-app purchases.
- Vercel — hosts Lever’s server.
- AssemblyAI — turns a clip’s sound into caption words.
- Cloudflare — stores videos sent for pro edits or a brand’s approval.
- RevenueCat — keeps track of your plan.
- Lever’s editors — the people who edit the videos you send them, under confidentiality.
“Report a problem” in the app opens Lever’s Discord server, where Discord’s own privacy policy applies. We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising. We don’t use your footage or your voice to train AI models.
How long we keep it
- Your account and name — until you delete your account.
- Footage sent for pro edits, and the edit — 30 days after you send it.
- Videos sent for a brand’s approval — 30 days after you send them.
- Caption audio — not kept by Lever.
- Purchase records — as long as Apple, RevenueCat and tax law require.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Profile → Delete my account. Apple asks you to confirm it’s you, then Lever deletes your account and name, cancels your Sign in with Apple link with Apple, removes you from any brand team, and takes down any videos you sent for approval. What’s on your phone stays there until you delete the app. A subscription is billed by Apple, so cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing team@leverugc.com.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. If you’re in the EU, the UK or California, the law gives you these rights too, and in California we confirm we don’t sell or share personal information. Email team@leverugc.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Lever’s server and its providers are in the United States, so what you send is handled there.
Children
Lever Studio isn’t for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has used it, email us and we’ll delete their account.
Security
Everything between the app and Lever is encrypted in transit, and only the people who need it can reach what’s stored. No system is perfectly secure, which is part of why we keep as little as we do.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top, and for a change that matters we’ll tell you in the app first.
